I spoke with him on the phone and explained I need something for 3 months; he said no problem for short term and when I asked how come he is an agent on this site. He said there would be no agent fee and I arranged to see the room. On site Andy, with his Propnex file under his arm, advised me the rental is SGD700/m because I only want the room short term. Is that true or is that his way of getting an agent’s fee – I don’t know.

He should have told you it was $700 for a short term on the phone- another example of an agent wasting your time!
It is true.
It is the owner who wants $700 for short-time but she will reduce the rental to $600 if Miss F decides to extend her lease to 1 or 2 years after 3 months and will refund the $100x3mths to her upon the lease extension.
This is a mis-communications and I apolosize to Miss F for the over-sight.
